MAS12 è
molto più che un prototipo Moto Guzzi.
Basato sul noto
basamento a V di 90°, ne deriva un potente motore a quattro tempi di 1105cc
raffreddato ad acqua con 4 valve in titanio per cilindro, pistoni 2 segmenti alta compressione,doppio albero a camme
in testa e iniezione elettronica dedicata.
Precisa
entrata in curva ed eccellente stabilità è garantita dalle forcelle anteriori Öhlins, mentre al
posteriore è presente un lungo forcellone (510mm)che migliora la trazione della
ruota posteriore permettendo a tutti i 150Cv della MAS12 di scaricarsi a terra.
Il sistema di
leveraggio si basa su un singolo ammortizzatore centrale disposto come il
rivoluzionario UNIT-pro link della vittoriosa Honda RC211V da MotoGP.
Il serbatoio si trova sotto la sella del pilota
per lasciare spazio all’airbox di 13 litri posto sopra il motore.
La maneggevolezza è
garantita dal peso contenuto in 192kg e da un interasse ridotto di 1450mm
ottenuto compattando il cambio con il forcellone e anche riducendo l’angolo di
sterzo a 24°

- 2007--La moto riceve gli ultimi
sviluppi e viene così rinominata in MAS12S
in quanto veste le linee mozzafiato della MGS-01 integrate dalle paratie
laterali studiate per ottimizzare l’estrazione d’aria del raffreddamento.
MAS12S è una moto unica e con temperamento sportivo.
Questa macchina è
dedicata a tutti quei piloti che amano la tecnologia senza eccessi e vogliono entrare
in sintonia con la propria moto anche nell'uso più estremo.
The MAS12 has more than just a Moto
Guzzi prototype. It is driven by a powerful
water-cooled 1,105 cc four-stroke with 4 valve in titanium, high compression two-segment pistons, twin cam shaft on
top and a complete brand new electronic injection system.
Precise entry into bends and road holding are guaranteed by the Öhlins
upside-down fork. At the rear, there is an extra long swinging fork swingarm (510 mm) improving the
traction of the rear wheel and transmitting all the horsepower of the MAS12 to
the ground. The rear single shock absorber is in a vertical position following the
revolutionary Unit-Pro Link suspension inspired by the World Champion RC211V
MotoGP bike.
The fuel tank
in under the driver seat in order to leave room for the 13 litres airbox on top
of the engine.
Handling is
guaranteed by the weight, kept down to just 192 kg, the wheelbase
measuring just 1,450 mm,
obtained by integrating the gearbox in the timing case and a shorten front fork
angle.

The bike had the latest development in 2007 ,renamed
into MAS12S, by wearing the
breathtaking lines of MGS-01, together with side pods fairing devoted to a best
cooling.
The MAS12S is a motorcycle with a sporting temperament.
It is also a machine dedicated to all riders who love and understand
motorcycling, not an over-tuned mass of technology for a limited few.
